The class will focus on strengthening the body for birth. The class will begin with breathing exercises that will help strengthen the pelvic floor. Prenatal Pilates is about strengthening the muscles that our lengthened due to pregnancy for example the adductors and mid/low traps and rhomboids muscles, and stretching in the muscles that our tight (pecs, hip extensors and hip flexors). The class will include modified mat repitoire exerces, such as, side legs, back extensions and footwork. Compared to a traditional body conditioning classes, the prenatal class will consist of exercises that can easily be regressed as the participants' pregnancy progress maintaining a safe exercise environment, by using props, such as the ball, bosu or chair.
